Effective nuclear charge

In atomic physics, the effective nuclear charge is the actual amount of positive (nuclear) charge experienced by an electron in a multi-electron atom. The term "effective" is used because the shielding effect of negatively charged electrons prevent higher energy electrons from experiencing the full nuclear charge of the nucleus due to the repelling effect of inner layer. The effective nuclear charge experienced by an electron is also called the core charge. It is possible to determine the strength of the nuclear charge by the oxidation number of the atom. Most of the physical and chemical properties of the elements can be explained on the basis of electronic configuration. Consider the behavior of ionization energies in the periodic table. It is known that the magnitude of ionization potential depends upon the following factors:Size of atom; The nuclear charge; The screening effect of the inner shells, andThe extent to which the outermost electron penetrates into the charge cloud set up by the inner lying electron.

Rubidium ozonide
Rubidium ozonide is an oxygen rich compound of rubidium. It is an ozonide, meaning it contains the ozonide anion (O3
Commemorative legislation
The United States Congress routinely passes commemorative legislation. These bills are largely ceremonial, and are designed to honor individuals, groups and causes. According to the Pew Research Center, between the 101st and 115th congress, ceremonial
Caesium oxide
Caesium oxide, or cesium oxide, describes inorganic compounds composed of caesium and oxygen. Several binary oxides of caesium are known
Europium(II) oxide
Europium(II) oxide (EuO) is a chemical compound which is one of the oxides of europium. In addition to europium(II) oxide, there is also europium(III) oxide and the mixed valence europium(II,III) oxide
Lithium telluride
Lithium telluride (Li2Te) is an inorganic compound of lithium and tellurium. Along with LiTe3, it is one of the two intermediate solid phases in the lithium-tellurium system. It can be prepared by directly reacting lithium and tellurium in a beryllium
Calcium polonide
Calcium polonide (CaPo) is an intermetallic compound made up of calcium and polonium. Rather than being found in nature, the compound is entirely synthetic, and difficult to study, due to polonium's high vapor pressure, radioactivity, and easy oxidation
List of acts of the 74th United States Congress
The list of acts of the 74th United States Congress includes all Acts of Congress and ratified treaties by the 74th United States Congress, which lasted from January 3, 1935 to January 3, 1937
Potassium ozonide
Potassium ozonide is an oxygen rich compound of potassium. It is an ozonide, meaning it contains the ozonide anion (O3−). In polarized light, it shows pleochroism. Hybrid functional calculations have predicted the compound is an insulator with a band
