Dentatothalamic tract
The dentatothalamic tract is a tract which originates in the dentate nucleus and follows the ipsilateral superior cerebellar peduncle, decussating later on and reaching the contralateral red nucleus and the contralateral thalamus.
- Marginal sulcus
- The marginal sulcus may be considered the termination of the cingulate sulcus. It separates the paracentral lobule anteriorly and the precuneus posteriorly
- Cerebellar hemisphere
- The cerebellum consists of three parts, a median and two lateral, which are continuous with each other, and are substantially the same in structure. The median portion is constricted, and is called the vermis, from its annulated appearance which it owes
- Horizontal fissure of cerebellum
- The largest and deepest fissure in the cerebellum is named the horizontal fissure
- Inferior frontal sulcus
- The inferior frontal sulcus is a sulcus between the middle frontal gyrus and the inferior frontal gyrus
- Collateral fissure
- The collateral fissure is on the tentorial surface of the hemisphere and extends from near the occipital pole to within a short distance of the temporal pole
- Primary fissure of cerebellum
- The monticulus of the cerebellum is divided by the primary fissure into an anterior, raised part, the culmen or summit, and a posterior sloped part, the clivus; the quadrangular lobule is similarly divided
- Condyloid fossa
- Behind either condyle of the lateral parts of occipital bone is a depression, the condyloid fossa, which receives the posterior margin of the superior facet of the atlas when the head is bent backward; the floor of this fossa is sometimes perforated by
- Palatine process of maxilla
- In human anatomy of the mouth, the palatine process of maxilla, is a thick, horizontal process of the maxilla. It forms the anterior three quarters of the hard palate, the horizontal plate of the palatine bone making up the rest
- Internal occipital protuberance
- Along the internal surface of the occipital bone, at the point of intersection of the four divisions of the cruciform eminence, is the internal occipital protuberance. Running transversely on either side is a groove for the transverse sinus
